How many drives do I need to support uncompressed video on networked Avids?

Unlike Unity™ Systems that require you to purchase a large number of drives to support uncompressed systems, Archion's hardware RAID controllers provide both the bandwidth and protection to do uncompressed video with a minimum number of drives striped together.

With a Synergy HDu system on Unity™ it is unnecessary to mirror as the Archion RAID takes care of both striping and fault protection.

The number of systems supported is based on the number of Fibre Channel ports with Archion's RAID controllers. NODE has four 4-gigabit FC ports so that one enclosure can handle four Avid Symphony's™ with bandwidth leftover for off-line systems.
